CaLL

Carnivores, Livelihoods and Landscapes

CaLL is a registered Kenyan organization that connects carnivore researchers and promotes collaborative conservation efforts across Kenya.

Governance and compliance

CaLL is guided by a board of directors and operates in affiliation with the Kenya Wildlife Service. The organization helps its affiliated projects navigate Kenya's legal framework — including establishing compliant employment systems in line with Kenya Revenue Authority guidelines and ensuring all projects meet national labor regulations.

Why carnivore conservation matters

Human activity is the leading driver of carnivore population decline worldwide, shrinking both their numbers and geographic ranges. Even where carnivores are not actively persecuted, they remain vulnerable due to their large territorial requirements, high energy needs, and naturally small population sizes. Kenya's predator populations face these same pressures.

CaLL believes that the future of carnivore conservation depends on building sustainable environments where carnivores and people can coexist, and this principle guides all of our work.
