Happy Endings

Updated: Jan 12, 2020

Samburu Field Scout Chris Lentaam recently received word that a hyena had killed a mother kudu, leaving behind a calf that was too young to survive on its own. Chris brought the calf to the Meibae ranger camp where the Kenya Wildlife Service authorized the transfer of the calf to the Mt. Kenya Conservancy rescue and rehab center. The calf is doing well at the center and will be released into the Conservancy once she is old enough to take care of herself.

ACK field officers rescue animals, but they also help the community find lost livestock and prevent predator attacks. Congratulations to these wildlife heroes!
