Chris Lentaam received word that hyena had killed a mother kudu leaving a calf that was too young to survive on its own. Chris brought the calf to the Meibae ranger camp where the Kenya Wildlife Service authorized the transfer of the calf to the Mt. Kenya Conservacy rescue and rehab center.

Kelvin Mwambilo was informed by a community headman that an ostrich had an arrow in its wing. After assessing the situation Kelvin contacted the KWS and a veterinary team was mobilized. Kelvin was invited to assist in the procedure where the ostrich was treated to prevent infection and was released after the arrow was removed.
